At Alex Andersen, we want to be at the forefront when it comes to taking care of our climate. That is why we have chosen to invest in 8 new gas powered trucks for our fleet, at the same time as a new biogas station will be built at our head office on Logistikvej together with our partner Bigadan. Bigadan has more than 30 years of experience in biogas technology, and we at Alex Andersen are really happy to be able to benefit from their great expertise.
The gas that we will use is Compressed Bio Gas (CBG), which is 100% CO2 neutral. This also means that we expect a CO2 reduction of approx. 206%. Compressed Bio Gas consists mainly of methane and carbon dioxide, which act as a good alternative to the fossil fuels that ordinary diesel is made of. In Denmark, biogas is produced from organic residues from both agriculture and industry.
In addition to biogas reducing CO2 production, biogas also has one of the lowest emissions of air particles, and therefore a double CO2 effect is achieved from the biogas, which is why we at Alex Andersen expect the large CO2 reduction.
It is expected that the plant will be ready and up and running by 1 April 2021.
